This is a new series that is just beginning. I began the work during my residency at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (October-December 2009). These paintings are reflections of recent events with the economy, the bailouts, and the downfall of the American auto industry. Consumerism, advertising, and resource exhaustion are also addressed morphing the context to include what it means to be a westerner, and the evolution of capitalism.
